Our story

A family business, giving back to the communities that built it.

The Wilmot Family Foundation was created by the Wilmot family, the family behind Wilmot Modular Structures, the commercial modular building company Mike and Kathy Wilmot founded together in Maryland in 1989.

Why we exist

For more than three decades, Wilmot Modular has grown alongside the people and communities it serves. The Foundation is how the family gives back in a more focused, lasting way.

We invest in education, especially for people building careers in construction and the trades. We support the schools and community spaces that bring neighbors together. And when a family faces a sudden crisis, we step in with direct, practical help.

What we fund

Our three focus areas

01

Education & the trades

Scholarships and financial assistance for students pursuing college degrees, vocational training and industry certifications in construction.

02

Schools & community spaces

Infrastructure and community improvement projects, including schools, parks and playgrounds.

03

Families in hardship

Direct financial assistance to families facing unexpected hardship.

The family behind it

Family-founded, family-led

Mike and Kathy Wilmot founded Wilmot Modular Structures together in 1989. Mike is a 1982 graduate of Salisbury University. Today the company serves customers from branches in Maryland, Virginia and North Carolina, and the Wilmot family continues to lead it.

Each year, Wilmot Modular Structures hosts the Wilmot Modular Classic, a charity golf tournament that benefits the Foundation.
